•    Welcome to my Third Grade Dual Language Classroom.  This year will be full of excitement and hard work!
As many of you may already know my name is Brenda Garza.  I have been employed at Milam since 2008 and have worked with HCISD since 2003.  Most of you may remember me from your Kindergarten class!  I am now in 3rd Grade!!!  Just like my students will be, I am a Milam alumni and  an HCISD graduate from Harlingen High school South.  Class of 2002.  After high school I knew I had to continue my education and become an educator.
I received an Associates Degree from TSTC, Harlingen in 2006 and worked as a paraprofessional while I attended college.  In 2007 I received a Bachelors Degree in Applied Arts and Science with an ACP Certification (EC-4) from the University of Texas, Brownsville.  It is at that point that I was employed at Milam as a Kindergarten teacher.
In 2014-2015 school year I was named campus teacher of the year and truly appreciated this acknowledgment of all my hard work.  Everything that is done, is done for my students and know that they are capable of succeeding.  At that point of my career I felt I needed to continue to educate myself so that I could continue to better myself and my students.
In May of 2016, I earned a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Rio Grande Valley.
