The highest rating the Texas Education Agency awards alternative campuses is a rating of Acceptable. KEYS Academy has continuously met this standard.
KEYS Academy students are constantly being recognized for their creativity and artistic work. In the 2012-2013 school year 20 students were published in A Celebration of Poets, an anthology of poems. In the 2013-2014 school year 15 students were also published in A Celebration of Poets
KEYS Academy Odyssey of the Mind team advanced to state finals in El Paso on April 11, 1992. KEYS was one of only two schools from the District to advance to state finals. In the Odyssey of the Mind Competition, teams had to create a solution to the problem presented to them.
Captain Planet Foundations and Home Depot awarded KEYS Academy a grant to construct a wildscape. On March 23, 2000, KEYS Academy held the initial tree planting ceremony and the projected was completed in the fall of 2000. Some of the trees planted included Brazil, Coma del Sur, Cedar Elm, and Guamochil.
The Garden Daycare is a Texas Child Care Licensed (CCL) facility and a Texas Rising Star Daycare.
