Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Victoria Lopez
I graduated in 2003 as a San Benito Greyhound. Then, I went on to UTB/TSC for some of my basic classes. I also attended Texas State Technical College and received my associate’s degree for a teacher assistant in 2006. After graduating from TSTC, I went back to UTB/TSC and graduated with my bachelor’s degree majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2009.
I began my career in education as a substitute teacher for San Benito Consolidated Independent School District in 2004. In 2006, I became a teacher assistant and worked with first grade for half a year. Then, I worked as a kindergarten teacher assistant for three years. As I worked as a paraprofessional, to my advantage, I had the opportunity of observing and learning many teaching strategies from a great teacher with 20 years of experience.
In 2009, I got hired to work at Jefferson Elementary, “ The Best School in the State of Texas.” This is my ninth year teaching at Jefferson Elementary. I taught kindergarten for seven years and this is my second year teaching first grade. I have really enjoyed teaching at Jefferson because I have learned from my students and coworkers. As a little girl, I remember playing teachers and school with my sisters and cousins. I feel very blessed to be teaching, because for as long as I can remember, it has always been my dream job.
On a personal note, I am the mother of three wonderful children, Moises, Gabriel and Jenesis Lopez. I enjoy spending family time with my husband, children, parents, sisters and brother. I am an avid reader and enjoy puzzle like games.
