Josie Galvan

Ms. Josephine Galvan

I was born and raised in Harlingen, Texas. I attended Treasure Hills Elementary, Coakley Middle School, and Harlingen High School South. I graduated from Harlingen South and spread my wings in Cedar Hill, Texas. There I earned my bachelor’s degree in Fashion Marketing/Management. Years later, my life took a turn, and I decided to become an ELAR teacher.

During my elementary years I had some very influential teachers. Ms. Salazar, my 3rd grade teacher, exuberated patience and understanding with all her students, Mrs. Muniz encouraged us to give back to the community, and Mrs. G. Stanteen fed my love for books and reading.

I am the person I am today because of my parents. They always stressed the importance of having an education, treating others with respect, and never giving up. I wish to impart these same life lessons to my students; in the hopes, that they will pass them forward.

My future goals include returning to graduate school to earn my Master’s degree in Education.

I am looking forward to another great year here at Coakley Middle School.

“Every day in every way, we’re getting better and better”.
