JUMP ROPE for HEART
Austin Elementary will again participate in the annual Jump Rope for Heart event. Every year students participate in a fun afternoon of jumping rope to music, as a grand finale to their fund raising efforts for the American Heart Association. The money raised is used for research, to educate the public and to provide community services, along with providing prizes for the students as a reward for their efforts in raising funds.
Marathon Kids is a 26.2 mile run/walk event that students participate in over the course of 6 months. At the completion of the event in May, students receive a finisher's t-shirt and medal for their accomplishment. This program promotes daily physical activity for the child and their parents.
