Thanks for making Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District your choice

Do you live outside of the Harlingen, but wish your children could attend HCISD schools? If you work or own property in Harlingen, your children may be eligible. Call 430-9500 to see if your children can Experience HCISD.

This exciting new program, called Inter-District Transfer, commenced in August 2011 when the HCISD Board of Trustees added additional exemptions to the district's FDA Local Policy. Through this program, students are placed in the school zone for their employer or their property, as long as the school is under it's capacity. If the school is above capacity, the student will be placed in a nearby school.

We are an outstanding school district, encompassing 17 elementary schools, five middle schools, two traditional high schools and an Early College High School. We are transforming our public schools with new facility projects, including a Ninth Grade Academy and a School of Health Professions, and new programs, including a Two Way Dual Language Program and digital classrooms.

Our district offers a strong, stable leadership involving lifetime, effective educators committed to providing a high quality education to every child.

step1
Employment/Property Owner Affidavits

In order to confirm your employment with a Harlingen business or your ownership of property within our district’s boundaries, we need you to complete one of two affidavits, available on page two and three of this packet. If you are an employee of a qualifying business, you can also have your employer to send a letter on company letterhead. Page three includes a sample letter. Click here to download forms
step2
Enrollment and PEIMS Forms
We have a series of standard documents we need filled out in order to apply for transfer and register your child for school. On top of completing these documents, parents need to bring an original birth certificate, social security card (if available), updated immunization record and a withdrawal form from the child’s previous school, if he/she is transferring during the school year. Click here to Apply Online
 step3 Verification and Placement

Once the affidavits and the enrollment forms are complete, we can verify your eligibility for the program. We then look to place your child in the school located within the zone of your employer’s location or the property you own. If there is no space at that school, we will work to find the next closest campuses. Once a campus is decided upon, we will contact you for more information to complete the registration process.
