This year our Bonham second graders began a recycling club, Lil Green Healers. The goal of the club was to learn about the process of recycling. Students helped to collect paper and plastic bottles on our school campus. With the help of parents, teachers, and students, enough money was raised to sponsor a field trip to the Harlingen Recycling plant. Students learned more about how the things that we collected are processed. Despite the threat of rain, our students also went to Pendleton Park to pick up litter. As a reward, students enjoyed lunch at Peter Piper Pizza to conclude our trip!
