HCISD held their 1st Annual UIL event on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Memorial Middle School.
Stuart Place Elementary had 30 participants in a total of 10 different events. Stuart Place came back home

Kids Care Club Service Project
Thank you to the Stuart Place Elementary students, staff and community for assisting the Kids Care Club in their efforts to collect dog and cat food. On Friday, May 3, 2013 the Club delivered about two pickup truck loads of food for the Harlingen Humane Society.
Students honored for creativity
Students at the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District were honored for their creativity during the 2013 State PTA Reflections Competition.
The PTA Reflections Program hosts its yearly contest to provide students the opportunity to submit an artist statement that describes what inspires them. The programs mission to encourage students across the nation to explore their artistic talents. Students can submit entries in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography and visual arts. Students in pre-k through grade 12 are encouraged to participate.

Liam Thomas Giloon from Stuart Place Elementary earned the overall award of excellence at the Intermediate Level for his literature entry titled “Unforgettable.” With his win, Giloon will advance to the national competition. This is the first time the Harlingen City PTA has had a student advance to this level.
Stuart Place Student Jaylynn Sanchez earned the Award of Merit at the primary level for her watercolor Visual Art submission titled “Dolphins Always Have Fun.”
Students participated in the annual St. Jude Math-a-thon March 4th-8th. Students collected over $1500 in donations. The donations will benefit patients of St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Top fundraisers were:
$260.00 RyleeStuart Place Elementary students collect over $5,000 in donations for the American Heart Association. Students participated in a Jump Rope for Heart event on Friday, March 1st at Harlingen South's Mini Stadium. Staurt Place earns the 'Top Fundraiser', 'Highest Increase', 'Top Online Fundraiser' AND bicycles for the top girl and top boy fundraiser.
Thank you to our staff and families who participated in the "Give me Five" campaign. Your generous donations of food and supplies were delivered to the Ronald McDonald House on Friday, Sept 28, 2012 by Stuart Place Elementary's Community Resource Committee. (9-28-2012)
