When students begin their high school education with HCISD, they have the opportunity to attend Dr. Abraham P. Cano Freshman Academy. The campus features a collaborative, technology-rich environment with a focus on the education and success of ninth grade students. Students choose from one of five endorsements of study offered at the campus: School of Business, School of Education, School of Heallth Science, School of Liberal Arts, and School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

In addition to two excellent comprehensive high schools Harlingen High School and Harlingen High School South, HCISD’s Schools of Choice offer students the unique opportunity to attend innovative campuses. Students obtain their high school diploma while participating in additional educational offerings including: College courses through Early College High School, a medically focused curriculum at Harlingen School of Health Professions or expedited credit accumulation programs at KEYS Academy.
HCISD offers Career and Technical Education programs in Agriculture, Foods and Natural Resources, Architecture and Construction, Media Arts, Business Management, Education, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism, Human Services, Law, Public Safety, STEM, and more.
