My name is Juan Amaya and I grew up and live in San Benito, Texas.I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, with a minor in Art from the University of Texas at Brownsville.I have been working in getting certifiedto teach through its Alternative Certification Program.I have been working at Coakley Middle School for the last ten years as an inclusion teacher paraprofessional for the special ed. dept. and have had the pleasure and the opportunity to help different teachers in their quest to enrich the minds of the children that we were so generously handed to us, so we could mold them into productive members of their community.I have experienced working for three previous principals, each with their unique way of making Coakley, “Simply the Best.” I am looking forward to this year, unique again, because of the different changes that will have the students’ best interests in mind.
