Olympic Week at Summer ACE was full of energy, excitement, and epic moments! Our students dove into all things Olympics — exploring athletes, learning about sportsmanship, and staying active through health and fitness fun. They wrapped up the week with a fun trip to Creasy’s Bowling —where they showed off their aim, composure, form, and friendly competitiveness! From learning to moving, it was all about collaboration, concentration, fun, and going for gold!

This summer, SpawGlass, offered a Construction Camp where students got hands-on training in various skilled trades. Throughout the camp, students had an opportunity to visit construction sites, work on concrete paths, practice drywall installation, painting, electrical work, carpentry, masonry, and more! Thank you, SpawGlass, for visiting with our students and training them in these skills!

This weekend, our HCISD Middle School Speech Drama and Debate teams competed in Dallas at the Texas Middle School State Tournament against 33 schools and 332 competitors. Congratulations to each and every one of them on their hard work and success.

We had a wonderful Saturday with the Junior League of Harlingen at their annual Kid Fit event!

This past weekend, we were at Market Days, and we had STEM2 Preparatory Academy join us.

Our HCISD Ambassadors had the chance to step into the shoes of a "Student for a Day" and experience a day filled with hands-on learning and exciting activities! From outdoor learning adventures at HCISD Early Childhood Academy, to learning Mandarin Chinese and ASL at Vernon Middle School World Languages Academy, to assembling a computer at Dr. Abraham P. Cano Freshman Academy, it was a day full of new experiences and valuable skills. Thanks to all the schools for making this a memorable and impactful day for our Ambassadors!

Science just got a whole lot cooler! Our 5th graders are taking over Harlingen High School South for their Annual Science Day, gearing up for STAAR testing! Students are diving into mind-blowing experiments with fire, ice, force, resistance, and bubbles, and more! HCISD Board Member Ricky Leal even joined the fun and got in on the action!

We had the privilege of hosting our March Superintendent’s Student Advisory Board, bringing together both our elementary and secondary students for a meaningful leadership session. 🏫💡🤝 Led by our secondary advisory board members, the discussion provided valuable insights into HCISD’s leadership model. We’re excited to share the success of our recent eSports Tournament, where students showcased their gaming skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship! 🏆 This event wasn’t just about competition—it was also about internet safety! We were proud to partner with the Harlingen Police Department and Srgt. Brooks, the Harlingen CISD Technology Department, the Harlingen CISD FACE Department, and Gutierrez Middle School to promote safe online practices and responsible gaming. 🎮 🌐 Key Highlights: - Srgt. Brooks from Harlingen PD shared valuable tips on staying safe online. - Harlingen CISD Technology and FACE Departments provided resources and guidance on navigating the digital world safely. - Gutierrez Middle School was a proud host, providing a fantastic space for students to compete and learn.
