
Harlingen CISD is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its student robotics teams following Regional Championship competition in McAllen.
The Harlingen High School Kraisen Cardinals, Harlingen Collegiate High Deceptibots, and Gutierrez Middle School RoboJags represented HCISD with innovation, teamwork, and determination, highlighting the district’s continued commitment to excellence in STEM education.
Among the many accomplishments at the championship, Diego Gonzalez of the Deceptibots, Team #11158 from Harlingen Collegiate High School, has been selected to represent South Texas at the FIRST World Championship after earning the prestigious FIRST Leadership Award.
The FIRST Leadership Award recognizes secondary students who demonstrate exceptional leadership, inspire others in STEM, and make a positive impact within their team, school, and community. This honor celebrates leadership, character, and dedication to FIRST’s mission of developing future science and technology leaders.
Diego’s achievement reflects both his personal commitment and the strength of HCISD’s robotics programs.
